Sometimes: If the reason for the hypertrophy (thickening of the heart muscle) is controlled, such as lowering your blood pressure, the hypertrophy may improve. If you lift weights, your biceps will get bigger. Stop lifting and the biceps will get smaller again.

Yes: Lvh, or left ventricular hypertrophy, means the walls of the heart have thickened due to generation of excess muscle. This is usually caused by chronic hypertension, and many studies have shown that with aggressive blood pressure control, LVH can regress. There is even evidence that the risk of heart attack and congestive heart failure decreases if the LVH reverses.
