Saline too drying?: Saline nasal sprays usually have a salt content equal to our body's tissues and can provide much needed moisture. However, if the lining of the nose is inflamed & sensitive, saline can be irritating and make it feel even drier. Occasionally doctors prescribe Hypertonic Saline with a salt content greater than the body's tissues; in some, this higher salt content could "dehydrate" the nasal lining.

Yes: The Hypertonic Saline nasal sprays can cause increased drying. They come in two flavors: isotonic and hypertonic.
