Androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness) can be reversed with rogaine (minoxidil) or Propecia if it's started soon enough. To maintain the results they have to be used on an ongoing basis. Hair loss due to pregnancy, trauma or shock will grow back with time. Hair loss due to underlying medical problems (ie: anemia) can be reversed if the medical problem is treated.
