Calcifications: You describe calcifications seen on a ct scan of the chest. Granulomas are little calcified nodules in the lungs. They indicate a prior infection such as histoplasmosis. They are benign. Atherosclerotic calcification in the chest is usually found in the aorta and the occurrence increases with age and risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes and/or high cholesterol.
