Category C: Cateory c means there has been reports of bad effects in fetus of animals but no controlled studies have been done in humans or animals. It means it is not completely safe. It also means it is not completely contraindicated but it's use should me carefully recommended and balanced against avoiding it ( not easy decision).

SUBUTEX: Typically in pregnancy subutex is used which does not have the Naloxone part. Better subutex than a drug you are getting illegally.

Better than addictio: Its better than chasing around short acting narcotics. It is an essential part of managing addiction. Subutex recommended in preg b/c if Suboxone injected, w/d, not good for baby. Otherwise the Naloxone part not a big deal. Avg nicu stay Suboxone 10d, Methadone 17 d; suboxoxone babies 1/3 the amnt of meds but starts to happen about day 4 or 5 after delivery. Get on lowest dose to prevent w/d.
