Typical schedule: Rested babies feed well so start within a few minutes. After half an hour or so, start your diaper changes or play period. Stimulate your baby with rocking or other play to take advantage of the wakeful period and continue until the baby tires. As baby begins to fuss from fatigue, put your baby to crib. Baby can drift off to sleep and complete the pattern until the next feeding is due.

No pattern...: You really can't make a real pattern with newborns. It's not how they are built. Babies can't follow patterns or think yet. They simply follow body cues - hunger, sleepiness, dirty diaper, etc... So babies eat and sleep on demand and can better establish a pattern at 3-4 months.
