Unclear: If it is subclinical, then that means the person does not have any symptoms. There is controversy over whether or not treating subclinical hypothyroidism is of any benefit. Would consider either no treatment or very low dose synthroid (thyroxine). Perhaps just wait and repeat test in 3 to 6 months. Symptoms like these deserve a full evaluation in person by your health care provider.

Test RT3: I bet you did not get reverse T3 tested. This is critical in making the diagnosis for functional hypothyroidism. Check free T3 and reverse t3. Ft3 should be in upper range and rt3 in lower range. If your ratio is off, you may need Armour Thyroid or t3, and synthroid (thyroxine) would be the wrong med for you. Make sure thyroid antibodies were tested too.

Treat the cause: Hypothyroidism can be primary - caused by a weak thyroid gland or secondary to other hormonal problems, like a pituitary problem. Or your thyroid can become dysfunctional secondary to high insulin, estrogen or cortisol. If you have functional hypothyroidism, this problem can go undetected by routine screening tests. More extensive testing can often reveal abonormalities. This is very common.
