Many possibilities.: It certainly could be due to something you are eating, but it can also be due to a medication, or an external allergen, or a virus or other internal illness. Try a long-acting antihistamine such as Allegra (fexofenadine) and an otc Hydrocortisone cream, and if it persists, see a dermatologist for a precise diagnosis.

Antihistamines: Eliminate the possible cause but I do not think it is sugar related. Corn allergy is possible and can be diagnosed with a skin test by an allergist. Treatment with Allegra 180 mg once daily may help. Zantac (ranitidine) 150 twice a day is also helpful in hives.
