Bleeding: Menorrhagia refers to prolonged or excessive menstrual flow. Normal duration of the period is 7 days or less, and 80 millilitres of flow (about 5.5 tablespoons).

Heavy menses: Menorrhagia/Heavy Menstrual Bleeding is any period bleeding that leads to soaking a pad/tampon more than every 2hrs, interferes w/ daily activities, or lasts >7days.
