Different joint?: Wrist fusions are often done for painful arthritis or a severely damaged joint. There are actually several joints in the wrist and hand, and you may have had a partial fusion. There are complete wrist fusions as well. A joint that may not have been fused may be causing you pain. Your hardware may be also causing you pain. New xrays are a good idea and possibly your hardware may need to be removed.
