How can you treat multiple fractures of the back after a motorcycle accident?

It depends: It depends on exactly what is fractured. Multiple vertebral body fractures could be treated with vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty, fusion, or bed rest; transverse process and spinous process fractures are likely to need some minimal immobilization. Unstable major fractures with ligament damage may need surgical correction and spinal fusion.

Depends: Treatment depends on the type, and locations of the fracture, the stability of the vertebral column plays a major role in deciding the further theurapeutic planning that could ranges from emergent surgery to protect and relief the compression on the canal, to a simple brace to give time for the vertebrae to heat and could be just pain medication when no important structures are involved.
