Spine Fractures: May be you do not need operative treatment or a brace. It depends on your symptoms too. You can seek a second opinion if you are not satisfied.

Get another doctor: The only thing to do in this case is to find another physician or get a second opinion. Unfortunately, sometimes there is really nothing to be done, but if you are unhappy with your care, get another opinion.
