A member asked:

If i have an enlarged spleen from mono, should i wear a seatbelt?

Yes, please!: The spleen is one of the most common organs injured following car crashes. It is common for the spleen to enlarge with mono; this makes you more susceptible to splenic injury. Wearing a seat belt will decrease your risk of trauma to the spleen.

Yes: You should be wearing seatbelts at all times. If there is a condition in which you cannot wear a seatbelt then you should not be in a vehicle.
