Deliver at Term: Hmd is a problem infants develop after birth if they have not started making enough of a product called surfactant (sa). Like building a house, you can't paint the walls until they are up. Babies make sa in the last months of pregnancy and it goes up in the lining of the lung air sacs.Docs have some artificial sa that can be placed in babies lungs & help, but baby must begin making it.

Good prenatal carel : Hyaline membrane disease is a condition associated with lack of a chemical in the lungs called surfactant. It is usually a problem of prematurity. The best way to deal with this is to get prenatal care from as early as possible in the pregnancy. The doctors can help prevent prematurity or treat the lungs with surfactant medicine if the baby does come early.
