It depends: Bradycardia refers to a slow heart rate. Treatment may only be needed if the bradycardia causes symptoms such as lightheadedness. Slow heart rate may be a side effect of medications such as beta blockers which may be discontinued or reduced in dosage. Symptomatic bradycardia is one of the indications for placement of a pacemaker which can be programmed to prevent bradycardia.

No treatment: In most cases bradycardia, a heart rate less than 60/minute, requires no specific treatment. If a patient has a symptomatic bradycardia it may be related to a prescribed medication. If this is not the case a artificial pacemaker may be needed.

Bradycardia : If the heart rate is too slow and or leading to symptoms treatment is a pacemaker unless there is a correctable cause such as low thyroid hormones
