Fatigue/short breath: Due to decreased heart function and output, patients of CHF are fatigued and short of breath with slight exertion. Their thinking may be less sharp in these situations. However, at rest in patients with mild disease, they may feel and think just fine. Severe exacerbation may be associated with panic, feeling of drowning and impending doom. When worse they fade into loss of consciousness.
