Cardiac cause: Cardiac chest pain simply means that the reason for chest pain is due to something abnormal with the heart. This doesn't necessarily mean a blockage of a coronary artery or heart attack but that is usually the case. Other cardiac etiologies include but not are limited to pericarditis, atrial fibrillation or other rhythm disturbances, and aortic dissection.
