What does it mean if you have a chest xray that shows a shadow in the cardiac region?

Many possibilities : Shadow could mean many things, including enlarged lymph nodes, mass, infection (infiltrate) among others. The exact meaning would depend on the context in the report. Call your doc or radiologist to get a better idea.
