There : There are two primary reasons that you may have food poisoning: bacterial contamination due to failure to wash the lettuce properly (several months ago there was a nationwide episode of this due to lettuce that was contaminated) or bad caesar salad dressing due to the eggs in the mix. Keep hydrated and if this does not pass in 24 hours seek medical care.

Hello. : Hello. Food poisoning normally would not occur two hours after eating an item, because the reaction is due to toxins that are formed within your body. So, this could be related to something that you ate the day before. Recommend sipping water and building up to clear liquids.

While : While it's difficult to be certain, what you had probably was related to the salad or the dressing. There have been multiple incidents of food poisoning from salads over the last couple of years. The time between eating the salad and the symptoms can vary considerably, depending upon which particular organism was responsible, as well as the degree of contamination. So, i would disagree with the comment stating that two hours was not an appropriate time frame. Most cases do improve within 24-72 hours without treatment. Push fluids, and you can use otc loperamide (imodium) as needed, provided that you aren't having fevers, severe abdominal pain, or bloody diarrhea. If any of those do occur, don't use loperamide, and do see a doctor asap.
