There : There are products which can be used to re-cement crowns that have fallen off. Recapit, temparin, and dentemp are three such products. Follow the directions that come with the product. Make sure your tooth is clean and dry. If it is wet, it can impact the cement. You can clean the interior of the crown ad make sure that it is also clean and dry. Check to make sure the crown fits evenly, before you cement it in. If not there might be a piece of cement on your tooth or in the crown that is the cause. This could be gently scraped.

If : If the tooth has had root canal treatment, there is little that can happen for the three days you have to wait to see your dentist if you avoid chewing on the tooth. If the tooth does not have a root canal then there is a risk that the tooth will be sensitive to changes in temperature and chewing pressure. If the tooth becomes sensitive and you can place the crown back on the tooth without difficulty then you can place a very thin coat of vaseline on the interior of the crown and reseat it. Make sure that you have the crown oriented properly and that, after seating, it does not feel like you are biting on that tooth first when you close your mouth. If you cannot reseat the crown properly it is better to remove it and contact your dentist's after hours service to see what his recommendation is.
