If your knee gets more swollen after activity, particularly if this takes several hours or until the next day, this may represent an inflammatory condition. That may mean something like osteoarthritis (normal garden variety arthritis) or a more reactive arthritis like rheumatoid arthritis or a similar phenomenon. In many cases, anti-inflammatory medications (like ibuprofen) may help, but you should ensure that you can tolerate these medications and do not have problems with abdominal bleeding or problems with your liver or kidneys. Additionally, if after a short course of these medications you are not improved, you need to seek medical attention if you wish to have the best chance at improving your condition. Good luck!
