MRSA : Mrsa is a particularly difficult infection to manage due its drug resistance. Even though your brother has been treated it does not mean that he is not carrying the bacteria. Being in close proximity to this bacteria after a surgery places you at significant increase risk of contracting the disease. I would recommend consulting with your surgeon, but I am sure he will tell you to avoid your mother's house post-operatively.

Don't have: any skin contact with your brother until healed. wash hands before contacting wound, keep clean and you should do fine
