Depends: It depends on the severity, your skin type / coloration, and what created the "burn." use the ointment prescribed, and avoid sun exposure (this will hasten healing).

Don't do: At home chemical peels yourself, unless you have specific training in them. With proper care, your burn should resolve in a week.
