If the tests are very specific in nature it is not unusual for an initial screening be done by a general physician to ensure the study is adequate then passed onto a specialist for a more detailed reading. The fact that two physicians are reading should be of concern, if fact i would be more comfortable knowing that more than one person is looking at the studies.
