Can the irritant in poison ivy travel through the air? now that it is spring, i have been having a lot of issues with allergies because of all the pollen in the air. however, the other day i noticed after a sneezing fit that i was developing an itchy rash

The : The answer is yes, but only under circumstances like burning it. You may have come into contact with it thru other means like a pet or something else that came into contact with it, if it is really poison ivy. The rash should be seen by a medical person as it may not be poison ivy or any contact allergy.

Discuss an antihistamine and nasal saline spray with your PCP. The rash is itchy and may be related to an allergic reaction. Testing is available by ordering an allergy blood test panel. Watch for signs of distress, difficulty swallowing and wheezing. If you have recently traveled, please mention this and other possible triggers such as dust, mold and pollen during your assessment.
