Dr. Carl Spivak answered

Specializes in Orthopedic Spine Surgery

Patients : Patients on blood thinners are at increased risk of bleeding from steroid injections. Bleeding in the spine (epidural space) can lead to compression of the spinal nerves causing increased pain, numbness, weakness, paralysis, loss of bowel and bladder control and sexual dysfunction, but not limited to these complications. Good luck!
