If : If your truly have "porcelain veneers", they should have a highly glazed surface and should not change color. Make sure they are truly porcelain and not composite veneers. Also, there are many factors that might make you think that they have changed color, when in fact, you may just appear to look different. Lighting and adjacent teeth may change the way you or others "see" your teeth. In almost all cases, external stains or plaque may change the shade of the veneers, but this case easily be removed by you or your dentist if necessary. Make sure you thorougly clean your teeth every day! if you still have a question, you should consult your dentist as to your particular question or problem.

Professional clean: Get them cleaned by a dental hygienist. Don't ever use whitening toothpaste on your veneers, because it can take the finish off.

Unpredictable: While porcelain veneers may respond slightly to teeth whitening in some instances, the outcome cannot be predicted or counted on. Recent studies show that bleaching gels will penetrate teeth from behind. So if you have porcelain veneers on the front of the teeth, you can whiten the part of the tooth under the veneer. But the porcelain will not whiten. Get a professional cleaning and polishing.
