Depending : Depending upon the size of the cavity and the type of restorative material used it may take 30 to 60 minutes on average to fill a tooth. This includes an exam to make sure what needs to be done and administering the anesthesia.

The : The size of the cavity, the technique and the material will determine how long it will take . You wlii probably spend an hour at the dentist office but the procedure will probably take considerably less time than that.

Cavities: It depends on the size of the restorations and what type. You would probably get novacaine which has to sit about 7 minutes to take effect, then the filling can take 15 to 25 minutes more for a small to medium sized filling.
