Cramps : Cramps in the feet and legs ("legs" to a doctor means the part of the lower limb below the knee) can be caused by many different things, including some serious conditions such as blockage of arteries in the lower limbs, or pinching of nerves that go to the lower limbs. Medications, other diseases (including diabetes, kidney disease, alcoholism, thyroid disease) can also be causes. Cramps in the feet and legs that occur at rest, and especially at night, are often benign, although they can be annoying. It is a good idea to get cramps checked by a doctor.
