A member asked:

I have injured my ankle, i am fairly certain it is just a sprain. should i get an xray to be sure? it has been about 10 days there is very little pain associated with the injury - mostly reactionary pain to more forceful movements like if i were to jog on

Most : Most likely you sustained an ankle sprain. If you have point tenderness in your ankle over your bones that is not going away then i would recommend an x-ray.

Have it evaluated.: Pain may last a long time following a foot or ankle injury. An x-ray can show if there is an underlying fracture. You may have a soft tissue injury if it is just a sprain and may have damaged the muscle, tendon, or ligaments in the area. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
