Yes. : Yes. Since you state you can only move it a litte, but dont' state what part of your body was impacted, I am guessing it was a finger. Infections of hands and fingers can move swiftly and cause permanent loss of movement if not treated promptly. This does need to be evaluated.

I am not familiar with the vegetation you have in wa, but here on the east coast we have some trees that have thorns that contain substances that cause intense swelling and pain. I would have the would looked at to ensure that there is no foreign material and have it treated to prevent a msra infection.

Yes You : Yes you may have a foreign body in the area. Also the skin is a barrier to infection so that barrier is now breched and pain is one of the signs of infection.
