Hello. : Hello. Sometimes sertraline (zoloft) can be a little tough on the gastrointestinal tract. I have several recommendations. 1. Take the zoloft with food. 2. Depending on how high the dose is, it can be split. I.E. Take half in evening and half in am (vice once a day). 3. This really helps - use of probiotics. Consider greek yogurt, kefir or probiotics that come in pill form. Use two to three times a day (preferrably not with a meal). Good luck.

Visit doc: He could be having reflux or at least have his doc rule out a medical reason for this- would not want you to miss it. Having ruled that out, it is more like that anxiety is affecting his GI and consulting with psychiatrist to see how much anxiety is controlled would help. Typically for anxiety, doses need to be more robust than doses for only depression - but always starting low and going slow.
