I : I am not sure about those nausea and faint feelings but there is little doubt that you have diabetes if your sugar was above 200 randomly. Nausea and feeling faint are not typical symptoms of diabetes. But you might feel better once you have that diagnosis confirmed and you get your sugar/diabetes under control. Check in with your doctor to get a fasting glucose measurement, hemoglobin a1c, other chemistries and an exam to check blood pressure, pulse etc. Take care and i hope you don't stop walking see the link below.

A : A bs reading of 245 falls into the diabetic range, either fasting or random but has to be confirmed as your finger tip may be contaminated with sugar from a sports drink or any glucose containing food. The symptoms you are describing (sudden near fainting and blurry vision) however are more consistent with hypoglycemia (which can happen in individuals in their very early stage of diabetes). Dehydration can also be a contributing factor although your near fainting and vision changes are not hallmark features. Constant nausea in the context of elevated bs can be due to ketosis and ketone body buildup (fruity mouth odor ?) and will require immediate medical attention (iv fluids plus insulin). Regardless of being on medication or not, you should have a full medical evaluation. Good luck cayce t.
