Is it worth it to get a home blood sugar monitor if you have hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia?

Definitely yes: Hypoglycemia is way more dangerous than hyperglycemia and should be prevented. Hyperglycemia is seldom life threatening, whereas hypoglycemia often is.
