There : There is no maximum age, but the minimum is that the permanent second molars have erupted. It works like regular orthodontics, pressure is put on teeth and they move. The tool is the only difference (plastic trays instead of brackets and wires).

Any age: Orthodontic treatment can be provided to people of nearly age from 7-8 to over 80 years of age. Clear aligner treatments are best accomplished when nearly all baby teeth have been lost.

Teens and adults: Invisalign works well for teens and adults. There is no maximum age, but the minimum age is determined by the timing of loss of the baby teeth. It is best to have the adult teeth in when starting invisalign.

No age barrier: Any age works for invisalign. Teens should have most of their permanent teeth in. Children can go through two phases of aligners, but the orthodontist would need a scanner in his office.

Growth: Clear aligners do not work as well with people who are still growing. Once growth has ceased there is no age limit. Know that clear aligners are only about 1/2 as effective at achieving optimum alignment/occlusion than braces. Make sure your see a qualified Orthodontic Specialist for the highest level of Orthodontic care.
