Soreness : Soreness after hernia surgery is not uncommon. Often there is an area of skin numbness near the surgical site that may have increased surface discomfort as the nerve feeling wakes up or recovers, and that can begin to occur several weeks after the surgery. The odor is uncertain. If there is no excess skin redness or no drainage from the wound, then infection is less likely. You should contact or see your surgeon again to discuss your concerns.
