Hello. : Hello. The rectum is the part of the gastrointestinal tract that connects the colon to the anus. So, if i understand correctly there is internal pain and bleeding if he touches inside that area. If that is the case, he needs to see a general surgeon for an evaluation. Internal bleeding from the rectum can come from polyps, internal hemorrhoids or fistulas (just to mention a few things). If the pain is at the anus (the actual hole the poop comes out of) then some possible causes could be internal or external hemorrhoids or an anal fissure.
