Hello. : Hello. There could be many different causes for these types of symptoms: dehydration, throat cancer, laryngitis, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, goiter, thyroid cancer & vocal cord polyps just to mention a few. If you have had these symtoms for any period of time, recommend that you be evaluated by an ear/nost/throat doctor.

An : An increased production of mucous is often a sign of the body's way of protecting its inner lining layers in response to inflammation or irritation. It can also represent partial obstruction and ability to clear the mucous we make in our upper sinonasal cavities ( about 1 liter/day in normal states). This, coupled with throat irritation and vocal change, could reflect laryngopharyngeal reflux (lpr). If there is a significant smoking or drinking history, other considerations such as possible malignancies have to be considered. Having said that, what you need is a good head and neck exam by an ENT with visualization of your voicebox area with consideration of imaging studies ( modified barium swallow/barium esophagram) as a starting point. You need a diagnosis before you can recommend proper treatment.
