Since : Since he appears to be in no discomfort or coughing, the recommendation is to wait between 24 and 48 hours to see if the coin passes into his stool. Please monitor him closely, if he experiences difficulty breathing, vomiting, coughing, turn blues, take him straight to the er. By the date of this post almost a week has passed, if your son has not passed the coin in his stool, or if you are unsure then he will need an x-ray. Besed on the results he may or may not need surgery. All the best.

Depends: These are an urgent issue if they stick in the swallow tube.If he can drink any fluids now you know it made it to the stomach. The rounded edges make it likely to pass in 3-4 day. If he develops colicky belly pain I would have him seen. If it doesn't pass in a week an x-ray can show it's location or that it did pass.
