One : One with this history is susceptible to staph and other organisms being resistant even to Clindamycin so it is worthwhile to get cultures in this set up as well as general medical monitoring for progress. Most importantly though is you would benefit from inpatient care for your chemical dependence. Don't let it bother you if you've already tried that once or twice or more. It's a matter of keeping at it, and then keeping at it. Hopefully, you can also be screened for other infectious agents that come from using IV medications and co-morbid medical and psychiatric conditions that can and do interfere with your recovery. I'm glad you were willing to ask for help..Keep at it!

Dr. Rochford provides excellent advice, and some additional points to be mentioned: You likely do have an abscess and this could be Staph, and possibly resistant to antibiotics. The risk of progressive cellulitis is high. Would head to ER. Strongly urge immediate drug abuse rehabilitation, as you are at high risk of such deadly entities as bacterial endocarditis, and embolic septic brain CVA.
