This : This may be a chalazion or hordeolum. If red and painful it likely represents the a localized infection of and oil gland within the eyelid (hordeolum). Some people call each of these conditions "styes." you can use warm compresses to help for spontaneous resolution. If this does not do the trick, a trip to your eye doctor may be in order. Courses of medications or incisional surgery can help. There can also be other growths on or near the eyelid - most are benign. Your eye doctor would have the benefit of having magnification (slit lamp exam) when evaluating these lesions.
