Wegener' : Wegener' s and rheumatoid arthrtis is a disease that is treated by a rheumatologist , it is rare to find that association because they are probably different in , what is called parthenogenesis , which means it s origins , but there have been cases described as associated , and i include a link for this association . To have e both or just having either , you require special attention and an elaborated treatment plan , pa can help evaluate the patient and keep tract of the follow up , but major treatment and diagnostic decisions ought to be made by the rheumatologist.

A New Rheumatologist: Rheumatologists are the experts specializing in both wegener's and ra. Another specialist will not be adequately trained or experienced to fully manage both. If you are unhappy with your current rheumatologist you should seek another one in your area for a second opinion. You could ask them about their practice's use of physician extenders such as pa's at your first visit.

Rheumatologist : You are seeing the correct physician - discuss your ambivalence with him. I agree the pa should not be your point of care.
