To : To be fair to you it is impossible to know the cause from such little information. It may or may not be related to showering and water in the ear which usually isn't a problem. She may have something as simple as early external otitis ("swimmers ear"), usually treated with a topical antibiotic-steroid drop, to eustachian tube dysfunction and retracted eardrum usually treated with decongestant therapy, to TMJ or throat inflammation causing refered pain to the ear, etc. For now Motrin is a good start, but if it persists, worsens, or you note any ear drainage, fever, hearing loss, or other associated symptoms, have somebody examine her.

Short/long term: A heating pad to the affected side of the head & a dose of ibuprofen usually provides symptomatic relief for these patients. If the pain persists you will need to have her seen to see why.
