Hello, : Hello, if you can't sleep at night due to back pain, you are likely to become sleep deprived. Our body repairs itself when we are sleeping. So good quality sleep is very important. Since you describe your pain as impacting your function, an evaluation would be prudent. Take care.

I : I would recommend seeing your doctor. You may have small compression fracture in your spine. This may have begun to heal up and then you aggrevated it exercising. If a fracture is diagnosed you may benefit from a back brace. See my health guide on spinal compression fractures. Good luck!
