Persistent : Persistent numbness in several unconnected body parts is an unusual symptom that suggests that there might be a problem going on at multiple places in the spinal cord: fingers by a problem in the cervical segments of the spinal cord in the neck, "stomach" (which could mean lower thorax, abdomen, or pelvis, collectively known as the trunk) by a problem in the thoracic segments of the spinal cord, and inner thighs by a problem in the sacral segments of the spinal cord. In most cases, numbness caused by spinal cord problems would also be associated with unusually responsive reflexes in the lower limbs, weakness, coordination or balance problems, and difficulty controlling passage of stool or urine. There are a few other, less common, causes of numbness in several unconnected body parts. A visit to the doctor can determine if any of these other issues are present, and discuss possible diagnoses.
