IUD use: The "progesterone IUD" is available, and aside from the pain on insertion, and a statistically higher chance of pregnancy (usually due to movement into the cervical canal of the IUD) the IUD is well tolerated. Any IUD is more uncomfortable if placed in women who have not had a term or near term pregnancy.
