Hello. : Hello. We still tap on knees and other locations with a reflex hammer. The patient's job is to relax and to try not to focus to much on the tap. This allows the doctor to determine if the patient's reflexes are strong or weak, and if they are overly fast, over slow or just the right speed. Great question.
