No. : No. But they are similar. Both are strong narcotics. Hydrocodone is a class iii drug due to it's potential for abuse. Hydrocone is a combination medication (i.e., mixed with acetominophen). Oxycodone is a class ii medication.

Similar drugs: Oxycodone and hydrocodone are similar, but they are chemically different. They have about the same potency, but as with all narcotics, some work better than others for individual patients.
