Any : Any fever that lasts longer than 5 days deserves a work-up. It looks as though your doctor started one by ordering tests for mono or the flu (both good reasons for a fever to last more than 5 days). Since your symptoms have continued, it is probably time for another round of testing to look for a malingnancy, rheumatologic disease, or an underlying infection such as lyme disease, cat scratch disease or osteomyelitis (bone infection). Talk to your doctor again and let them know that you are still having fevers. They may want to order more testing or may send you to a specialist such as an infectious disease doctor or a rheumatologist. Good luck!
