As : As long as the tooth did not fracture in half and a piece is still in the gum, there is very little the emergency physicians could do. As long as the bleeding has stopped, see your dentist when you can.

Should be seen: But probably can't do much in emergency room. Most physicians don't have training or equipment to deal w dental emergencies. Need to make sure no broken tooth root fragments left behind, no bone fracture, and no damage or displacement of underlying permanent tooth. Call your dentist and make an appointment to be seen asap for exam, and follow his advice as to timing and rx.
